My name is Kyber Lovshin, 19 year old ILCA 7 Sailor, I come from the Nepean Sailing Club and Britannia Yacht Club. I grew up sailing at the young age of 5 years old with my mom and dad. I grew up in the small town of Chelsea Quebec, where I began my sailing at the Gatineau River Yacht Club, where I learned how to sail in Open Bic’s, 420s and Byte CII’s. After a couple years there, I changed clubs and I raced for the NSC race team for about 4 years, then Joined Nick Kim's ILCA 6 team out of the Britannia Yacht Club.
I have sailed and raced in many different boats. I did lots of 505 sailing with my parents and my brother. I race 49ers from time to time and I love going out on the keelboat with my grandad. For ILCa’s I am now a member of the Sail Canada Identified Athletes Program. I have been in the ILCA 7 for about 3 years now and I have done multiple North American Championships and a Euro Cup in ILCA 7. This past year, I had a brief training camp in Viana do Castelo, Portugal followed by the Euro Cup in Punta Ala, Italy. This year I am getting ready to compete at the U21ILCA World Championships.
