Clara is an ILCA 6 sailor and proud member of Ashbridge's Bay Yacht Club. She fell in love with the sport at ABYC’s learn-to-sail program and spent her first summer of racing with their senior race team. She then graduated to the Ontario Sailing Team for the remainder of her youth career. After spending some time developing her skills on the North American circuit, including a gold medal at the Canada Summer Games, she took her first steps into international competition. She attended the Youth World Championships in China in 2017, finishing 14th. After some strong showings on the Under-21 circuit the following year, she was offered a place on the Canadian Sailing Development Squad in 2019. Since then, she has been competing internationally on the Senior Women's circuit, at World Cups and World Championships, working towards her ultimate goal of an Olympic medal. During these years, she also completed an Honours Bachelor of Science at Queen's University, graduating with the class of 2021. Since then, she has trained as a full-time athlete, competed in the Olympic trials, and served as Sarah Douglas' training partner in preparation for the 2024 Olympics. Now she is kicking off her campaign for LA 2028 and is looking forward to the journey ahead!
