Will and Thomas have been members of the Quebec Sailing Team for 5 years now.
In 2021 the team spent May and June training in Bristol Rhode Island with support from Sail Canada. During this training block, they participated in their first full rig 49er regatta and finished 6th at the 49er North Americans. July and August were spent in Kingston training with the Canadian 49er squad which culminated at the Sail Canada senior championships. The boys were able to finish 3rd overall, an impressive result considering they were only 17 years old. During 2022, they had their first taste of the big leagues competing in World Cup events internationally at the ripe age of 18. They had an impressive Junior Worlds finishing 20th/70 and North Americans finishing 25th on 50 (2nd Canadian team). Also competing in the 49er europeans, Kiel week, Princess Sofia regatta and the 49er worlds.
The 2023 season will be all about improvement and preparation for the spring of 2024 and the olympic trials. Coming up, the team will compete in the Allianz regatta, Kiel Week, 49er Junior worlds and World Sailing Championships in The Hague.
The long-term goal is to represent Canada at the 2028 Olympics in the 49er class. With a long road ahead, any support towards their dream would be appreciated. Campaigning is the ultimate challenge of resilience and perseverance – we welcome your support. Join our team!
